1989

Victor Spinetti’s A Very Private Diary

Jenny produced Victor’s show on tour for 20 weeks ( from an idea by Peter Wilson).

 

Forming Centreline Productions

In 1989, Jenny formed Centreline Productions - a General Management and Tour Booking agency. Clients including The RSC, National Theatre, Gero Productions, H M Tennant, Michael Rose, PW Productions, Wildrose Productions and The Russian Allstars.

1988

Beginnings in Small Scale Touring

Jenny formed her first small scale touring company with two shows about women in sport ‘Atalanta’s Apples' - touring colleges, sports centres and small venues around Leeds, Sheffield, Manchester and Bradford.

1985

Proteus Theatre Company

Jenny was administrator, director and designer for Proteus Theatre Company, Basingstoke until 1987.

Arts Council Bursary

Jenny received an Arts Council bursary to work as a designer at the Library Theatre in Manchester.

1980

Grant to study Design

Jenny received a grant to study Theatre Design at Croydon College of Art from 1980 - 83.

1976

Bankside Globe Playhouse

Performed and managed new community theatre company in temporary theatre at Bankside Globe Playhouse: two productions/ Viva Espana (an adaptation of ‘Fuente Ovejuna’) and Cockney Palace (A variety show).

1975

The Bonfire Dance

Jenny taught on a movement course with Stuart Hopps at Jordan Hill College, Glasgow and organised a street dance and outdoor cabaret ‘The Bonfire Dance’ in the yard of a tenement building during the Dustman’s Strike.

1973

Joan Littlewood and Stratford Theatre Royal

Joan Littlewood outside Stratford Theatre Royal.

Jenny worked with Joan Littlewood as an administrator for her Fun Palace at Theatre Royal until 1975.

After Gerry Raffles untimely death, Joan asked Jenny to General Manage Theatre Royal and Theatre Workshop until a new Artistic Director was appointed. Jenny performed that role for six months until Max Shaw’s appointment in October 1975.Joan herself wouldn’t set foot in the building again for another 25 years when she returned briefly after Ken Hill’s death in 1995 to support his production of ‘Zorro’.

Jenny revisited her experience with Joan in 2014, producing a film tribute with stories from people who were involved in Joan’s Theatre Workshop

1972

Critics Group - Festival of Fools

Jenny (pictured second from right) on stage in 1972.

Jenny performed and choreographed for ‘Festival of Fools’ by Ewan McColl at New Merlin’s Cave, King’s Cross.

1970

Midlands Arts Centre

Jenny taught Drama and Movement at Midlands Arts Centre, Birmingham.

Studied with Lisa Ullman, Hen Van der Vaater and Stuart Hopps.
